  A quartz jaw crusher is a device specifically designed for crushing hard ores such as quartz. It features a simple structure, easy operation, and a high crushing ratio. It is widely used in industries such as mining and building materials.


    How to Improve Decreased Quartz Jaw Crusher Crushing Efficiency?

  1. Adjust the discharge opening size. Based on the material characteristics and the desired crushing particle size, adjust the discharge opening size appropriately to ensure smooth discharge of crushed material.

  2. Optimize the feeding method. Ensure uniform feeding to avoid blockage caused by excessive feeding. Reduce the amount of large material chunks to reduce the load on the quartz jaw crusher.

  3. Improve material pretreatment. Pre-screen or pre-crush the quartz stone to reduce the amount of large material entering the crusher and improve crushing efficiency.

  4. Replace worn parts. Severely worn components such as the jaw plate and liner should be replaced promptly to maintain the original crushing capacity of the quartz jaw crusher.

  5. Adjust the crusher parameters. For example, adjust the motor speed and optimize the eccentric shaft stroke to accommodate quartz stones of varying hardness and particle size.

  6. Improve the operating environment. Ensure the crusher operates under suitable temperature and humidity conditions to avoid efficiency reduction due to environmental factors.


    What causes poor discharge in a quartz jaw crusher?

  1. High moisture content. When quartz stone has a high moisture content, it easily adheres to the inner wall of the crushing chamber or the jaw plate, causing blockage.

  2. Improper discharge port setting. The discharge port is too small or its shape is poorly designed, making it difficult to discharge the crushed material.

  3. Excessive feed. Large pieces of quartz stone exceeding the design capacity of the quartz jaw crusher enter and become stuck in the crushing chamber, hindering the discharge of other materials.

  4. Jaw plate wear. When the jaw plate is worn, the gap increases, potentially causing material to become stuck and affecting discharge.

  5. Material accumulation in the crushing chamber. During long-term operation, accumulated material in the crushing chamber cannot be discharged in a timely manner, causing blockage.

  6. Mechanical failures, such as belt slippage and reduced motor speed, can reduce crushing capacity and slow discharge speed.


    Practical Application Case

      A quarry in China processing high-hardness quartz with a PE600×900 jaw crusher faced low crushing efficiency (only 45–50 t/h vs. designed 80 t/h), frequent discharge blockages, uneven particle size, and fast jaw plate wear. The main causes included unsuitable ordinary manganese steel jaw plates, improper discharge opening setting, unstable feeding, low on-site voltage, and poor equipment maintenance. After upgrading to high-chromium alloy jaw plates, readjusting the discharge gap, installing a vibrating feeder for uniform feeding, stabilizing voltage, and strengthening regular lubrication and parts inspection, the output increased to 78–82 t/h , discharge blockages were completely solved, jaw plate service life extended from 10 days to more than 35 days, and overall crushing efficiency improved by more than 60%.
